Walter Still, Senior Pastor

“It is such a joy to see how God has grown Peace Lutheran Church!” is a remark often heard from Pr. Walter. In 1999, he was appointed as the Pastor Developer of Peace and since then it has been a fascinating walk with God meeting the challenges of planting, building a facility, developing ministries and growing the church. Pastor’s passion is equipping disciples—he loves leading worship, preaching, teaching, greeting visitors and leading the congregation.
Pr. Walter was raised in Pennsylvania, attended Penn State, the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg, and has earned a Ph. D. from Duquesne University. He has served three congregations. His wife is Elizabeth, a flutist who plays sometimes at church. They have two daughters and have been blessed with two grandchildren (so far!). Pr. Walter enjoys bicycling and making furniture.

“I lift my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121.1)

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20
